Prayers for Your Children

The Bible promises in 1 John 5:14-15, “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.” The way to pray the will of God is to pray the Word of God. Here is a list of prayers that I pray over my children on an almost daily basis. I have printed it into bookmark format and keep it in my Bible. This list grows often, so keep checking back. As you read the Word and the Lord leads you to certain Scriptures to pray over your children, add them to your list.

1. That they would come to know the Lord at an early age and that God would use them for His glory: 2 Peter 3:9 - "The Lord... not wishing any to perish but for all to come to repentance."

2. That they would have a passionate, love relationship with the Lord and desire to know His word: Ps 42:1-2 - "As the deer pants for water so may their soul pant for you, O God, may their soul thirst for the living God."

10. Col 3:15-17 “ And let the peace of Christ rule in their hearts, to which indeed they were called in one body. And be thankful.
